o-hi-o
made it back to cc tonight after spending the day in flint at the green arts conference. i was pleased to be on a panel with two really righteous women who have been doing amazing work in flint with sidelot gardens as strategies to combat dumping, dealing, and decline. the harvest helps with food security too but mostly they garden to bring beauty to their shrinking city.
for some really odd reason, i got a catch in my throat and sort of welled up when talking about the union men and women who worked at the chevy in the hole. i think that i am just exhausted. i am too old for these tours and two conference papers in one week in the summer is two too many.
i just want to be sitting in the splash pool on campus with googie circa 1999.
i send my love to all you people i have neglected for far too long. i am going to try to do better about being more communicative and responsive. i was reminded of how people love each other and speak to each other with love and respect while spending time with christina and edward this week.

timing, young jedi, timing. no more than one conference per month and no more than one conference per summer, that's what i say.
