two questions...at least...

1. i would like to save some money for a nice digital camera. when i say nice i mean...one that is functional and i don't mind spending money on it. once i earn and save the money. (i have learned for real that is how to buy things...earn then spend. it's been revolutionary for me).what are the most important features to contemplate?
  • memory?
  • lag time between snaps?
  • ability to capture moving images and sound?
  • weight? size?
what kind of camera do you have? make and model?

2. i am looking for short moving pictures that depict neighborhoods. help. here's what i am driving at...in my neighborhood planning class, i would like to have an early writing assignment that has students view a short, analyze the images, and think about the cultural comment contained therein. and then i want them to write about it. maybe 500-750 words.
three goals...
#1 i need to sample their writing and help them work it out early on in the term.
#2 i would like to get them looking at cultural representations of neighborhoods. i have come up with three that i can get my paws on easily...lazy sunday from the good people of SNL on NBC; a parody of it: lazy muncie; and the totally brilliant indictment of suburbia....the opening of weeds on showtime.
#3 i want to help them hone and work on visual analysis. -- i need to see where they are and they need to get into it.

I had a Canon something-or-other until it was stolen. That lag between pushing the button and the picture being taken is the worst. Try to avoid that at all costs.

Let's see -- neighborhood shorts. Somehow I am picturing the video to ZZ Top's "Legs."
