frankly, i think that these children are so adorable it is unnerving. but, then i realize that they are my niece and nephew and what else really can an auntie type?

casey took this photos at recent family parties while our chicagoland cousins were visiting. casey is riley's godfather and he too is totally over the moon about these two as well.

i want to clarify two things about the last image of riley. yes, he was running beers to his parents who were firmly ensconced in their adirondack chairs. and no, it's not a cross that he's sporting on his "boy-ish" necklace ... it is a shark's tooth.
