full moon, full monte.

i went along to HR-57 tonight. after a day of being butt-glued to mindy's desk chair. i got there early so i snuck around ella watson's old neighborhood and hung some more signs about her along 11th street. i finally got inside the dollar store next to her old place and the women there, the proprietors who may or may not have been eritrean, were totally amenable to posting the flyer. except first they wanted to know: was she a nice lady? i don't know + that's what i said.

julia has listened to talk of this the longest of all. can you stand it that some of the ideas are finally coming to fruition. this is because largely because at the outset of the summer, i had a student who needed some work so i hired her to help move me along. big up to buvana.

anyway, i rolled back to HR-57 only to find that tony and denise displayed the flyer in their case right up front. big up to them too. i like those two and their crew at the door.

i love d.i.y. public history.

and on the d.i.y. tip, i went along to hear and see fullmonte's vacationing in afghanistan. and then jon alpeyrie showed five photo essays from zones of conflict where he traveled and shot images including among maoist in nepal, the OLF in ethiopia, and some armenian troops. he had an odd sense of humor. i guess the kind that comes when you are dumb enough to climb out of a trench during a sniper fight to snap some pictures with your nikon camera.

the AC was off and the place was crowded. as a result, the air was thick with testosterone. it got a little tiny bit contentious at one point and i tried to help amy smooth it out by making some jokes about central asian dogs. admittedly, i don't always know my crowd. the main john, john monte, seemed a little taken aback, but mainly he rolled with it.

googs, they need people to link to their site. i figured you are the go to guy for that. especially since i am prohibiting you to link to mine. (i am just not that kind of girl, david).

now, i am going to type another nye poem for everyone except jason to read because he is very naughty and sarcastic. you can only imagine what you would do in a group hug with j.b.w., nye and me.

okay, it's too late to transcribe another. and my boyfriend is about to be on t.v. mocking lieberman some more.

what's really strange is that i absolutely am in no mood to get out of bed. i do not even know how or why i got up today. i have been so out of sorts. tonight, as i walked along 14th street to catch the G2, i looked up and realized that the moon is full.

there you go, i am going to play a little warren zevon now.

Meow!

Didn't mean to come across as so sarc-y, as those Brits might say--

But in addition to liking group poetry hugs, I like the poetry just fine, thank you v. much--cavafy, e.dickinson, neruda, bei dao--you name it, sisterfriend. (I would like to say of self that, as some might put it, I am "on the poetry tip.")

In fact, let's put on The Haiku Hat:

In rust-colored cords
Blogging about her summer
KQ rocks it hard

Top that, biatches! Oh it is so on.
