diwali

i have been overwhelmed by deadlines, duties and big problems here.

my mother and father took the children to boo at the bmore zoo. here are some pictures. from their outing. please note that riley is on a booster seat not in a car seat. it's a very big deal.





yesterday, despite my 13-day long headache, i met with a student, persuaded mirielle et keith to come along to the upcoming decemberists, and went to gavin + sudha's home for diwali. it was pretty fun to be there and to hear stories about hanuman and to see all the little people dressed as monkeys.

they had big firecrackers and it was fun to light them.
