i need you so much closer (8x) + (4x)
went to see the cribs open for franz ferdinand and death cab tonight at the state theater in detroit. i went with kdmd. (she has lived here for two years and never been in detroit. um...okay. what-ev.)
thanks fellas for great, generous and gracious performances.
seriously, i love drummers. i love it when other members of the band pound on the drums. i used to be a sucker for keyboardists, but now: it's all drummers; all the time.
damn glennkotche. hegotchme.
i had a note this very night from the divine k s-c. in it, she attached a jpg of her recent outing boston marathon. damn. that's about all i can say. i have always admired you, miss lady. now more than ever. except for that one day when we were working for judith and robert at the e street compound, and we were measuring and drawing outside of dulles' old office overlooking the kennedy center. it was so bitterly cold. i was in poor form that day. but aside from that one day...i have always been a huge fan. thanks for pursuing me even when i have been so lame.
today was the last day of classes for this term. not a class period too soon. i need a break from all the blue and gold.
this morning, i learned some disturbing news. something so untypable that it pains me even now to write it out. thing one and thing two might move to southern florida with their parents. i am beside myself. my mother, always the master of subtlety, evidently reported to my brother that he "was ripping her heart out." nice going, mama. my father was so vexed, he slept in my brother's bedroom last night. (for the record, the pq chambre has been reconfigured and remodeled since he moved out. and there are only about two main pieces of pq evidence on display: the raggedy andy in an acrylic, acid-free box and a lovely self-portrait).
perhaps i have been reading way too much wonkette, but i am scared that reese will grow up to be the next katherine harris. and maybe riley will resemble jeb! it's all so worrying.

despite the entry's title, which makes me happy, this part, thing one and thing two might move to southern florida with their parents, makes me so sad. say it isn't so! is this a done deal that they are slowly rolling out on family or is it still subject to debate, pay offs, etc?
