an update

like j.s.s. suspected, i do in fact know what to do with mary's comments. and am working with them and figuring out what i need to address most pressingly. and, an update, ebb left a voice mail in which she remarked that she "very much liked it." that is an extremely good sign. no word from my other readers.

i hate being on the academic job market.
i hate that i haven't had an intervention on my eyebrows in weeks.
i hate that i hurt my thumbs--the left one especially. chaturuanga is hard for me. today was the fist really vigorous practice since i was injured in august and it was hard. i like the studio i am going to in ypsi. it's no flow. and the proprietor is definitely no debra, but it works for me right now. and it is heated to be 85°.

aside from the above items, all is going really well right now. crazily busy. but it's going really well. of course, i don't want to go on about all the goodness in fear of jinxing myself, but i have a good thing going here.

reese continues to be super-entertaining. even in stories, she is larger than life.

my mom recounted a story about how she and my dad were taking them out to dinner. my mutha told me that she told the children that she cautioned each one in their party that she would take anyone who acted out to the car without a warning. she threatened, "if pappy misbehaves, i will take him to the car and read my book; if riley misbehaves, i will take him to the car and read my book; if reese misbehaves, i will take him to the car and read my book."

reese pondered this, and queried: "what is your book about?"

that, dear readers, is my girl.

and for anyone whom i told i had a new crush, it's officially off. i know it lasted less than a week, before i really even properly worked into it. my love for his designs is still pure and true, but he drank way too much at our all-college dinner meeting with the dean the other night and ran his mouth way too much.

anyway, it was a long, productive meeting. despite how i may have made things sound in other postings or emails or conversations, i quite like that one of my deans. he is super wasp-y, but i do like him and i hold him in high regard. he's a strange duck, and a funny bunny especially when attempting social intercourse, but i do think that he sincerely cares about the quality of the built environment and society. and he is compassionate. at least in his writing.

kd md and i are aiming to roll out soon...more later, i promise.

Delicious neurotic-ah update. "Hmmm, update."

Sorry to hear the job market sucks. "Take a number" will have to be my harsh response. Somewhat more sympathy, though, for the state of your eyebrows/thumbs.

I will hereby wager that the real krush-killer was less his chatty cathy qualities and more his refusal to legally change his name to 'guy raz.' But always reassuring to hear that you aren't solely fixated upon moi (!).

Go Wasp-y Dean Fan Club, Go!

Speaking of wasp-y, must go check on my boston baked beans in oven. (Inspired by ultra-white PBS cooking show yesterday, you know the one where they anal-y experiment in the ultra-white test kitchen w/methods and equipment. Jesus are my people lame.)

Less than a day left to next episode of 'studio 60,' people!
