frederick

back to collecting memories for the winter hibernation in o-hi-o. i have been practicing a lot at flow and soaking up the yellow. the focus of the month at flow is on chakras and within the jivamukti satsang is shri krishna. krishna urges us to be playful. so, agatha keeps urging us to be joyful. she asks us to conjure a teacher, a friend, a person we know who is playful and joyful. each time, i have pictured miri. [yes, miri, you!]

who are the people who bring unmitigated joy to our lives? who encourages us to be playful --- with
our flutes, dancing around? this evening, either in agatha's class or perhaps in sierra's harmony flow, i started thinking about how much i need playmates in o-hi-o. aside from the sprouts children and my students.

i am trying to be playful and light-hearted and less sour and cranky. sincerely, i am.

tomorrow, i am aiming to be playful in a palindrome with bird...we are going to go kayaking. i asked that we do something really different...on the water.

i had a real d.c. experience today...while at the georgetown pool, i listened to the ambient grunts and expletives from a group of ballers playing intense games of bball at the rec center's court. one pulled up his car and cranked the music...including plenty of jay-z or whatever and a mess of go go. on deck, polyglots preened. others perused an assortment of reading materials: faulkner (in english), newspapers, IR journals, law journals, suspense thrillers and an assortment of titles in french and spanish. this is not unlike the other day when two sisters and a boy pal traded insults in four languages...english, french, bulgarian and spanish.

oh! the public pool in d.c.

i sized up dupont farmers' market again today. aside from the dolcezza gelato, the seafood, and the extensive array of cheeses from creameries, their market is really nothing special. the people are nice, of course, the veggies/fruit are bountiful (this time of year, esp), but there's nothing great or inspired going on. they do not include "artists." they have loads of bonuses, in terms of location, density, etc., but it's not that great. there's no larry or lucy or eugene or debra or jess. and no paula and sprouts.
