mocha java yard
happy father's day: big up to big guy.
thanks to my own dad for always loving me and supporting me and coming through with the prank or pun just when i needed it.
i've been mixing coffee grounds into the topsoil in and around my flowers. and this afternoon, sarah laid some mulch -- but it's not mulch, it's the discarded/reclaimed hulls of cocoa beans. so, our backyard smells like mocha java ville. i have spent the past couple of nights out there enjoying twilight with jasmina. she is a little unclear about what precisely is going on with lightning bugs. she does seem to get the wonder and beauty of them, but not like shelley used to.
taught sunday school today and nothing really big to report there. i recycled some of the same gestures and phrases that the kids seem to like so...moses as "the main man" of the hebrew bible. and how jesus tried to arrange to have passover in a pizza parlor, but all the good places were booked. so, he made do with some bread (no sauce, no toppings) and wine in an upper room.
i've been working and writing and trying to clear out cobwebs, close circles and all that.
and, finally, i appreciate henry rollins' entry into the ann coulter madness. and i mostly think he is funny, but i am not sure about the terms of his argument.
