active u

jeanette and janice are on me about my lack of participation in active u. so i went swimming just now.

i was so spoiled by the pools and rec facilities at maryland. there's only one thing better here than there: the lockers are better designed. but other than that every detail of the rec facility pales when compared to the maryland complexes.

tonight, to make up some extra minutes for this week's pledge, jeanette, janice and i are going to go salsa dancing. this is totally insane, but the j/s made me do it.


one of my miami colleagues just wrote me with a line on housing...an apartment that does not rent to undergrads and does allow pets. he also explained that one of his neighbors, a septuagenarian who owns a modernist house i admired while there, recently had heart surgery. peter intends to keep his ears open for me about the sale of the house.
