the sphinx competition is no suzuki playdown, but it sure was exhilarating to go to the max yesterday to see young black and latino string players. new crush: aaron dworkin.

it's snowing a lot now. it's not as cold as it had been, but brrr. i wish it were summer already. i wish that i could be working in the garden in a tank top.

i attempted to exercise today -- i packed up a swimsuit (two actually) a towel, flip flops, goggles, and a towel and toddled up to the north campus rec center. but evidently, the free pass i secured through the active u program jeanette persuaded me to join entitles me to use the gym for free before 4. but at the very least, i walked up and down the hill briskly.

anu is sick with laryngitis so she can't come now until after spring break. this will make my life less frantic this weekend, but darn, i had fomented a lot of enthusiasm for this coming weekend. alas, now i wait until march to make more matches.
