field trip to flint michigan
lake effect snows? that's nothing for my michigan students.
what else to do on a saturday when it feels like 5 below, but head to a town first made famous by alexis de tocqueville and then later by michael moore. we went to flint today. i have many many more pictures to post. but i have an unreliable connection right now so i will be lucky if i can get these up.
we drank coffee and cocoa at brown sugar cafe. we got into an abandoned SRO to have a look around. we looked at chevy in the hole. we looked at empty, frozen lots. we went to the bustling farmers market.
never a dull moment teaching here. god bless the students who came along today. seriously.
it is very beautiful in michigan now. we are not plugging our cars in, but it reminds me of AK, dk. you know what i mean in terms of frozen ice blue beauty.
