i'm still kelly from the block
izzy's uncle billy has supremely underestimated the many cliffhangers in my life. silly billy is contemplating not reading any more now that i landed the job at miami in oxford ohio.
shall i part my hair behind? do i dare to eat a peach?
for there are decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse on this blog and more.
for those who know members of my diss committee, you will not be surprised to read that those who replied to my news comported themselves totally true to form. one thing that i didn't quite expect, but should have is the waves of email that i am receiving now from people in oxford wishing me well.
one of my colleagues in black studies got excited for me today when i reported my news to her. she exclaimed: that used to be such a radical place. i said it still is. she replied, you'll it right in there. good for you.
that's right good for me.
and even better for me, i got new contact lenses today. and my classes here are going really well.
i went along to a meeting of arts of citizenship this morning and julie, charlie, jeff, margi, and nick were so happy for me. they were grinning and beaming when i arrived. then we got right to work hammering out our i mean their budget for the next three years and thinking about working with the LSA dean, thinking about who should be the next director, what kinds of projects should we i mean they fund. and on. i volunteered for only one thing. i am so glad that i have worked with them. janie and charlie and margi and sort of phil made me do this, but i sure am glad that i did. that work totally helped me land the job.
more snow now and it is something like 12 degrees outside.
Labels: arts of citizenship, job search, snow showers, still blissed out
