don't snitch

today i spent some time in b'more city with my parents. my mother is a docent at the newly refurbished basilica. (the original architect was benjamin latrobe; it's been a preservation controversy about the restoration -- which period of significance to conserve and commemorate?) anyway, she and i went to Mass there to celebrate little baby jesus' rise from the tomb. after, while she stayed and took visitors on tours, my father and i trolled through a number of public housing projects that have been renovated under hope VI. pleasant view gardens has mostly aged well i would say, a testament to the staying power of masonry construction.
at any rate, quite close to the carmelo anthony community center, some entrepreneurial young people set up a photo shoot to celebrate the holiday. i like it so when people improvise public space.
yeah! everyday urbanism. yeah! digital slr/s. yeah! easter bunny outside douglass homes.
i only wish that miss bird had been on hand because i know she loves to b more careful in the city, too.
after, my mother, father and i enjoyed easter dinner at the BMA. and i recalled fondly that the last time i was there was with jbw when i was her wingman.

good luck today, KQ! i don't know how defenses are conducted, but i imagine you in a fabulous outfit being smart and confident and witty and brave. remember the advice of jss: "that's a great suggestion that i look forward to incorporating into my revisions for the book."
I'm sure you will kick ass today, KQ. But, just in case, may the force be with you.
