tom tom or else
i am so going to lose my mind if i drive in rural butler and preble county on my own. it's usually one hour into the lost status that i get really really cranky. tonight i stopped twice for directions. finally, i just gave up on asking for directions to college corner. after querying :a third party, the wife in the couple insisted to her husband...don't take her that way in the dark. he turned to me and said, you know how to get home from oxford? i can send you to oxford. fine. send me to oxford.
it's so maddening. my compass does no good. my internal compass is little help. it should be easy, it's a series of parcels that have been gridded, but it is so maddeningly disorienting.
i saw a sign on a side of barn: if you die today, where will you spend eternity. after this weekend, i fear my eternity will be in ohio.
and i haven't even begun to explain the rally i went to on saturday where passersbys yelled things like "white power", "secure our borders" and "fuck all the races" as they drove by in their foreign cars. somehow, the author of "fuck all the races" seemed the egalitarian in his sentiment.
at least i got to hug on joan and chris and baby alana today. and i got to see "funney/st range" at the wexner
i am just so frustrated. and i have to go to the office tomorrow and wait for a tech to resolve more computer problems. luckily, because i registered my upset about the sexually harassing tech who came last week, i have gotten better more professional attention and service. too bad, it took four hours of time with mid-level managers and the director of equity and equality last friday afternoon during what should have been happy hour.

I very clearly remember getting lost driving back to Dayton after a James Taylor concert at Miami. We knew we were in trouble when we found ourselves in Indiana and the worst part was the only place open were the bars adn we couldn't go ask for information because in Indiana (not Ohio) we were underage!!! Once the corn is down and the leaves are gone you will be able to see much farther. OF course it will all look the same but there will be seemingly more to see.
