i returned to ann arbor tonight -- driving through southern ohio's blizzard -- to attend a pop-up workshop tomorrow at the crack house also known as hollander's. i miss the big city of ann arbor. it feels positively cosmopolitan compared to where i live in o-hi-o.

there are three items are competing for the greatest innovation ever:

1. my brand new 160 gb i-pod classic that i bought with faculty development money.
2. the altec docking station that i bought on my own to use with #1
3. my hot water bottles.

such is my life.

when i say that i am in ann arbor to do pop-ups, what do you think that i mean? i didn't quite realize how many pop-ups there are in the world. some suspect that this is about computers or cooking. it's about paper engineering.

i wonder if university of chicago has an urban history line with pop-ups and fold-outs?
