most excellent visitor this weekend

shelley arrived on friday morning and we criss-crossed the lower p, taking it by storm with karenna in tow.

it was such fun to tool around with her and bounce ideas around as we w
ended through southeastern and northern michigan. she snapped lots of digital images at the parade we attended in traverse city as part of the national cherry festival. i might be able to post some photographs that shelley snapped of the octogenarian marshal who narrated the four hour parade. (we stayed for two.) she, kd md and i shared a pretty magical saturday night by candelight at a restaurant on the water in traverse city. across the harbor was a inn/yoga studio where at some point j.b.w. i would love it if we could go. perhaps if we have simultaneous editing and proofreading of an article? two aging hippies run an inn and one floor of their place is a yoga studio. each morning breakfast concludes with meditation and yoga. for real girl. we must go. the journey to the restaurant took us past several wineries and cherry orchards and roadside stands -- strangely they were all run by a woman named madame ranevsky.

(at night, under the waxing moon, i thought of the evening that bird and i spent at an orchard in the western cape in stellenbosch.
also a magical evening.)

last night, we three sat on the back deck and had some social intercourse with former students and pals discussing middlesex over a mediterranean platter.

chapter three has continued to confound. it is sort of my very own obscure object only without the freckles. it's about everyday urbanism, of course, and housing in washington. thanks david for pressing and pressing.
revised goal is to print and post by thursday morning when i pack up again and trundle off to puppet camp. so close.

i think i can.

we will go to that inn/studio and we will edit articles between our downward dogs. shall we plan a trip?

so nice to hear about your lovely visit; i'm glad you are finding joy (to use a very santa fe phrase) even in this most miserable of times.

keep on keepin' on.
