yo heart herbalux

i am so stoked that i made it back to the hotel to watch ugly betty + grey's anatomy. so many things to type about this trip, but i don't need to process all of my experiences through this blog, do i?

the trip here was illuminating and not nearly as bad as i thought. i now understand why this is an important part of their education. and it's a-okay that i am the one who is here with them. around about 10:45 p.m. while at stop number eight on the turnpike, i was about to cut off my jacked-up bee -venom infested thigh and gouge out my eyes. but i got over my bad self in three moments: one was when we were all singing along to that human league song "don't you want me"; two: the students peered out the window in awe at coilsrus' beloved schuylkill boat houses rimmed with white lights. (not one had any idea what it was). i got to explain what was up. as we wheeled into town near 30th street station, i realized that only three of the students had ever been in an east coast city, and none had ever been in philly for real. i pointed here and there and was full of a surprisingly vast amount of factoids about center city philadelphia. i do not know where these details came from, but i dug deep. maybe even back to our sophomore class trip at notre dame. my ability to be helpful and to bond with the students was then quashed when another song came on. a boys to men song and someone busted out with "this so reminds me of 8th grade." yeah. "8th grade."

but good stuff today. it is nice -- great even to be back in an east coast city with east coast people. and we had some good tours this morning. in the afternoon, i went to meet a penn pal in west philly. it was great to see randy (a/k/a danger boy), my fellow sagittarius, and to catch up with him. it has been too long.

i had a nice slow food meal at place called fork tonight and then some fab "hot" chocolate ice cream that made me want to make out with the girl who scooped it and the boy who rang me up. i walked back to the hotel and stopped in a local store and bought some discs.

a question: what do you call the place where you buy your music?

Kelly I am somewhat ashamed to admit that the place I buy my music is fondly called ITUNES. Do they even have record (CD) stores anymore? Where would Scott's beloved grandma go to buy his Guns and Roses these days?
