happy new year

i understand from miri that it is customary to ask for forgiveness from friends as part of the high holidays. i wonder whether george allen will ask this year?

i am leaving philly this a.m. with the students. this was an excellent trip. i would not have imagined i would have enjoyed this so much. i need to type this now before i get into the minivan with the six students for 10+ hours on what should be a day of rest for me.

but what i really need to report is that my parents are touring in russia now. hilarity ensues. on my cell phone. they are like teenage girls snapping images and leaving voicemail and texts for me of their impressions. i so totally love it. this morning, i awoke to find the image of the interior of a bus brimming with yamma yamma. (my mother adores that phrase and concept).

and to point out how the apple does not fall far from the tree...i filled the memory card with 500+ images of our time here in the city of brotherly planners.
