revanchism at the polls?

just back from dinner tonight with a visiting scholar who works on gentrification and the vengeful city. i like the ritual of going out to eat with guests, grad students and colleagues. tonight, however, i wasn't fully up for it because i am so tired from the weekend's activities. tonight's lecture was good and stimulating and a mess of architects came along so i was very pleased. jonathan made a special point to invite them. we felt like a whole college tonight again. is it weird that the guest pecked me on the cheek good night? he shook the male grad student's hand.

i part company with my bf stephen colbert when he jokes about capital punishment. even if it is sadaam going to the gallows. is that what they call gallows humor?
